Clovelly Beach

In this image you can see the the small beach and bay of Clovelly. It is a popular swimming and snorkelling spot especially at the ocean end where the water is deeper and fish abound. It is also famous for various incarnations of a large Blue Groper fish which can be hand fed when snorkelling. Clovelly has an active surf life saving club (SLSA) and many dedicated all year swimmers ranging from corporates through to pensioners. The beach end is popular with families and the elderly as it is shallow and has good access.A truly beautiful spot. This image is part of a series that that I have been working towards for several years. During my Masters degree I was reading works by environmental author David Suzuki. He has ideas about small communities that resonated with me. I was trying to find a way to illustrate these ideas of working, living, growing food and learning within a small geographical area. In a way it is a positive insularity. After much trial and error I combined several existing techniques to create an original photographic approach that captures in amazing detail and clarity a panorama into a circular image. I call these images CircPan (circular panorama). The images have the look of an aerial photograph, in this case shot from a boat moored off the beach. They are a unique approach to landscape photography. This is a limited edition print series. The image you purchase will be hand numbered and embossed. The edition range is /315. The image will be posted to you rolled in a tube. There are several framing options, a classic black or white timber frame through to a new spinning frame which allows you to orient the image anyway you choose on a wall.
