Bradman Oval

This image was shot from the centre of the famous Bradman Oval in Bowral NSW. Bowral is an hour or so from the Sydney centre is a favourite for many Sydneysiders who enjoy the cooler temperatures and lower humidity during the sticky summers in the city. The recently completed Bradman Museum is a great stop for many cricket mad Bradman fans on a kind of pilgrimage that follows the great cricketers life and career. This image is part of a series that that I have been working towards for several years. During my Masters degree I was reading works by environmental author David Suzuki. He has ideas about small communities that resonated with me. I was trying to find a way to illustrate these ideas of working, living, growing food and learning within a small geographical area. In a way it is a positive insularity. After much trial and error I combined several existing techniques to create an original photographic approach that captures in amazing detail and clarity a panorama into a circular image. I call these images CircPan (circular panorama). The images have the look of an aerial photograph, in this case shot from an elevated rig of cameras. They are a unique approach to landscape photography. This is a limited edition print series. The image you purchase will be hand numbered and embossed. The edition range is /315. The image will be posted to you rolled in a tube. There are several framing options, a classic black or white timber frame through to a new spinning frame which allows you to orient the image anyway you choose on a wall.
